Welcome!

The Baltimore Area Association for Supportive Housing (BAASH) is a not-for-profit association of professionals who manage, own, operate or provide goods and services to the Supportive Housing community in the Baltimore Metropolitan region. The Association’s mission is to bring together supportive housing providers—licensed and unlicensed—who recognize the right of each person to have the choice of safe, decent and affordable housing.

Funding from this constituency is reserved for member-providers who subscribe to and adopt the Association’s Code of Ethics, Standards of Service and who successfully complete the Peer Review Process. Successful completion makes member-providers eligible for a “preferred vendors” listing made available to many agencies. In addition, there are many informational, educational and networking opportunities available to BAASH members.

Commitment to Excellence

One important mission for BAASH is to be at the forefront of the movement to improve the quality of services and supports for people utilizing supportive housing in the Baltimore community. Our Service Standards for Supportive Housing is one mechanism by which we strive to partner with our members and assist them to become more confident and effective in their work.

BAASH offers a network of relationships between providers in which practice can be observed, ideas can be shared and problems discussed. Engaging in this network involves much more than measuring practice against the standards: it is an action research method. Through the process of engagement, peer review and reflection members themselves bring about progressive change in practice.
